I love when TCs or our/their leftists try to “prove” that Greek Cypriots aren’t Greek by sharing DNA studies, even though the same articles say Cypriots can be up to 30% Greek. What exactly do you expect? 90%? That doesn’t exist. Nobody’s DNA is 100% from one group. Not even Greeks from Greece would get as high % most likely.

The same people will call you racist if you say, for example, a Nigerian born in Cyprus isn’t Cypriot, a Bosnian born in Greece isn’t Greek, or a mixed Turkish Cypriot (half Turkish, half Turkish Cypriot) born in Cyprus isn’t Cypriot. You might argue the Nigerian example isn’t valid because “anyone born in Cyprus is Cypriot, we just say we’re not Greek.” Fine, but then the logic is inconsistent. If DNA, like in the article you shared to “prove” your point, defines Greekness or any other ethnicity, it should also define being Cypriot. By that logic, a Nigerian born in Cyprus with 0% Cypriot DNA wouldn’t be Cypriot. Do you agree? If birthplace and culture define being Cypriot, Greek/GC, Turkish/TC, or any other ethnicity/nationality, then DNA cannot be used to claim we aren’t Greek. You cannot have it both ways.

Then they wave around an article saying Cypriots are up to only 30% Greek to “prove” we aren’t Greek. If that is the logic, based on a study that admits the percentage can reach 30% (if accurate), then do not be shocked or god forbid call me racist if I say a mixed Turk and a Turkish Cypriot born in Cyprus isn’t Cypriot, especially if their DNA shows “only” up to 30% Cypriot. Right? It is not me saying it, it is their DNA test.

Third time this old article was posted this year.

Pretty sure OP was posted it  the second time (first time was me) .

Edit: second time was a different account. I know this now cause I bother to check post history of this sub. Op should do the same before posts old articles.
