    1. The Finnish Minister of Defense announced that an agreement has been reached. This means that the Nordic countries will have one and the same air force in the future 🙂

“At the press conference, I said that the Nordic air forces will form a unified air force in the future. We will enable joint and unified action across national borders in all situations. The defense and security of the Nordic countries will be strengthened.”

“Good progress has been made towards this goal. The Nordic countries will have over 200 new generation fighters by the beginning of the next decade. However, there is still work to be done to enable joint and unified action across national borders in all situations.” 🇫🇮🇸🇪🇳🇴🇩🇰🇮🇸

    2. Interesting. To me, that makes far more sense than a european airforce or even a UE-level military.

      Localized cooperation.

This is a very sensible move, and hopefully we can progress on a unified air defence.

My Finnish is not strong, this read likes increased interoperability rather than one fully unified force.  Can anyone Finnish clarify?  It doesn’t look like combined procurement, one language, and merged stockpiles which would be some of the actual big items.
