      Eurovision should only be for European countries.

      People on here are only supporting Canada’s entry for political reasons.

      To all the clueless people around here saying how “Eurovision is just Europe”, there have been non european countries competing for a long time. You don’t need to be an european country, you need to be a member of EBU or an associate member that was invited (after asking). Australia is not a member of EBU but was invited after asking (associate member) and they participate. Canada, Brazil, USA, South Korea, Japan, Nepal, Mauritius, Iran, China , Cuba can for example all participate if they ask

      As someone with a Canadian wife, the Canadian stereotype everyone has in mind exists 20 years in the past. They’ve absorbed too much American politics and culture. Best leave them where ye found them.

      Next year will be the 70th edition of Eurovision. For the 60th edition Australia got a special invitation to perform in the finale. Maybe it would be fun to give Canada the same special invite for next year’s edition.

      As a Canadian I see Eurovision as a more fun Olympics. In that it’s a bunch of countries coming together to make art. Weird fucking art. And I love it. Would love to have Canada join.
