“Of those waiting, 61.8% of patients had been waiting less than 18 weeks.
That is the best performance for more than two years, but is well below the target of 92%, which the government has promised it will hit by the end of the parliament.”
Good stuff.

My experience with my seriously ill wife suggests that almost half of this is appointments being “forgotten” about rather than actually getting seen to.

I wonder if private healthcare plays a big part in this statistic. It’s becoming more popular now with employers

I’ve been on one NHS waiting list for 12 months and another for 8 months. Every few weeks I get a text saying, “Do you still want to be on the waiting list? Reply Y for yes or N for no.”
It makes you wonder: if I miss one of these messages, would I simply be removed from the list? Because that’s what it feels like.
This is the only “progress” they’re making—trimming the lists by quietly dropping people who don’t respond. Nothing meaningful is improving. No substantial changes are being delivered. These charlatans aren’t fixing the NHS, they’re just fiddling the numbers.
