Offaly County Council has said that although county is not included in the Met Éireann weather warnings, given existing soil saturation, surface water runoff from high ground, standing water in low-lying areas and elevated river levels, they are continually monitoring the situation.

In a statement to RTÉ’s Drivetime, the council said road crews have been mobilised from earlier this week “for both mitigation and reactive responses in a number of locations throughout the county.

Took the train from Dublin to belfast, huge amount of flooded fields, it’s pretty crazy because of the amount of flooding caused by tiny little streams.

Yesterday I was driving local roads around n11 junction 18 in wicklow and the ground was leaking upwards everywhere. Big puddles across the road on the way to the junction.

And that was before this rain today..I can’t imagine the roads there now.

Seriously heavy rain in Wexford town for a while. Some of the roads around here are flooding from the shores bursting themselves.
