It’s a register of all homeschooled children and a requirement for parents to request permission from their local council if they want to homeschool a child.
It’s not a proposal to send the kids to a war zone.
Unregulated homeschooling is a big no no. There is alot of abuse perpetrated behind closed doors and seeing how many functionally illiterate children were produced by it in the states is proof enough that it needs regulation.

Good, you shouldn’t be able to shelter and indoctrinate your children from society. They need to integrate and socialize with others for a healthy society.
I want the next generations of doctors, pilots, scientists and teachers to be educated by trained professionals, not a terminally online parent who removes them from school to show rebellion to school fines, vaccines and ‘Government control’
Seeing the behaviour of kids these days, I’m not particularly broken up about this.
There are good reasons to homeschool kids, such as severe special educational support needs that cannot be met properly by local schools, or you have children with mental health issues that affect them going to school on a regular basis. The problem is that a lot of kids are homeschool for religious reasons or cultural reasons and miss out on a properly rounded education. It will also help all children by ensuring none are falling through the gaps in society and ensure they are getting a sufficient education. If you are homeschooling your children in good faith then you have nothing to worry about.
Its a legal requirement to ensure your child gets an education. I don’t think its unreasonable to expect to have to prove that is happening.

Its a record of their education. I don’t see whats wrong with that. The guy sounds a bit unhinged.
Homeschooling should be banned for all but a very small number of individual cases.
Most people who home school their kids are completely unsuited to the task.
Homeschooling should be banned, we don’t let people do appendicectomies on their kids at home, because we accept that to do this requires training, but we allow unqualified people to teach. It’s wrong and look where it has taken America, not somewhere we wish to follow.
Personally I think the parents (or whoever is doing the teaching at home) should require a qualification in order to prove they can teach. And for secondary be able to pass all tests with an A.
One of my daughter’s friends from primary school was homeschooled for secondary – lost track of home many brothers/sisters she had, she didn’t have a bed to sleep in and it was seriously neglected.
Government does have power over their children. I get that they don’t like it, but that isn’t going to change.
It’s basically local council have 100 percent control over your child schooling nothing more.
Thought taking your kids out of term time was bad.
Parents will be separated from their kids and put into homes to be abused and their parents thrown into jail.

They closed our a school for kids in the village split it into 3 so all the kids had to goto different schools.
We all had paid for the running of the school for the last 6 years all the teachers were volunteering from the village.
We had 12 weeks notice we offered to buy the school they said no.
The schools is still closed a year later for sale 1 million quid. No one will buy it as it’s tiny built in the 1940’s
Timber construction it will end up just the land auctioned.
Not only that the nearest school was 15 miles away they never offered any transport.
Their not interested in children it’s all about money.
