It’s really crazy to think about it: he was born when Germany was an Empire, went to war for Nazi germany, whittnessed the DDR and BRD and the reunited Germany.
The question is which Germany did he like the most
Technically, he saw 5-6 Germanies exist; Empire, Weimar Germany, Nazi Germany, BRD, DDR, and the united Germany under the BRD.
Technically 5 different: Germanys. Kaiser’s Empire/2nd Reich, Weimar, Nazi/3rd Reich, Divided Germany, Unified Germany.
