Are all the norwegian and Swedish ones that are not on the list in co-op with USA??

    2. TheReal_Mage54 on

Interesting to see how many of these projects are either still in development or have completely unknown specs. Europe clearly wants independent strike capabilities, but the timelines and fragmentation across countries make it a very slow process. Still, this is the most movement we’ve seen in years.

GCAP should have been France & UK – they work much better together than France & Germany

As a Swede, I am honestly concerned about our only entry on the list. A weapon that cannot miss is Fing scary. I hope it’s honest.

Safe to say, that doesn’t look very good. We need to step up our gamne a little bit, guys.

Turkiye’s Cenk is designed to have nuclear warhead.

    7. Need_For_Speed73 on

Ok, good, we are working on strike weapons which are a good deterrent. But what about defensive “shielding” ones? Provided it’s almost certain who’d be the first to strike.

Gungnir is such a befitting name to an anti ship missile system. It was odin’s magical spear, that never misses it’s target..

    9. CharmingTurnover8937 on

That 2,000km+ missile sounds tasty. Hope it actually gets built.

Don’t buy a thing from the US. To buy US is to open yourself to threats, coercion and blackmail. We must buy from reliable allies not untrustworthy greed driven slime.

    11. ExplosivePancake9 on

Theres also the italian Mirach drone, wich will be made into a long range missile, with at least 250km of range

    12. Temporary_County1838 on

Don’t include Türkiye. As you know we are not european.

Edit: i don’t understand, don’t you the one allways say, Turkey is not european, Lets kick Turkey out of NATO etc.

    13. ELSA is missing. Essentially it is European. Weird laps.

Edit: i edited my comment in the first minutes. Weird, i get a reply on the first version 20 minutes later.

The Teseo Mk.2/E while still in development has been green lit for production last September.

Also it’s launch platforms won’t be only the FREMM EVO but also the Thaon di Revel class Multipurpose Combat Ships and the future DDX

The table’s header is ”selected” weapons. What are the selection criteria?

    16. Antar3s86 on

Is there information which companies will develop/manufacture these?

EDIT: Asking because I am looking for investment options.

    17. ImprovementNo2185 on

I wonder how many homes could be build for the amount of money spent on these weapons

Thank you Trump, for running this great MEGA campaign 😁

    19. unwilledduck on

These are medium/ranged ballistic missles not longe range right?

    20. D_Silva_21 on

Brakestop would be great for Ukraine if we can accelerate it’s readiness. They are lacking in the midrange options with big payload and it’s ground launched too which is good

    21. bate_Vladi_1904 on

And the list shows once again the very obvious – it doesn’t make any sense to run 20+ small, local projects. The answer must be 4-5 European central projects, that are really done and do not have discrepancies in the wsy of usage, needed pkatforms, tools etc.
It is so stupid – to see all those projects, with unccodinated resources, requirments, standards…
Federal Europe order and standard is the way – the rest is just …”blow in the wind”.

    22. Purple_Monkee_ on

Looks like promising collaborations over the next 5 years or so. What is more important though is that European countries manufacture and keep stock of large quantities of these missiles. No good having a massively expensive development program and then buying 200 or 300 missiles – those days are long gone. The Ukraine war shows that you need to keep and maintain large stockpiles (thousands of missiles) and make sure you have the ability to manufacture thousands more at short notice.

    23. SethLurd on

Have to say, Turkey really stepped up the weapons development game

    24. AdAcrobatic4255 on

Of course the country that’s best at thriving below sea level is making a submarine.

    25. SraminiElMejorBeaver on

Teseo is an antiship missile like an exocet, i did not hear about a land attack version.

And from differents sources [challenges](https://www.challenges.fr/entreprise/defense/la-france-degaine-un-milliard-deuros-pour-le-futur-missile-balistique-mbt_628157) and [secretdéfensev2](https://www.secretdefensev2.com/post/la-france-a-besoin-d-un-missile-balistique-non-nucl%C3%A9aire-le-mbt), the MBT missile could end up being used from planes, frigates, maybe submarines, it would have a low if not nonexistent warhead as it rely on kinetic energy and would have an emphasis on maneuverability.

RCM² could be added for Germany, 500km ‘missile’ drone, one way effector (from mbda) could be added for France (there is [2 versions](https://www.forcesoperations.com/crossbow-la-proposition-low-cost-de-mbda-pour-frapper-dans-la-profondeur/) crossbow owe heavy (800km) and a smaller variant of (500km)) and in the future very most likely the one way effector from thales that seems to go on a similar range but there is no data for it right now.

    26. So Europe has essentially nothing in the way of long-strike capability without the US, and won’t have much capacity for the better part of at least another decade?

      Lol.

Europe is basically just a US vassal.

    27. VigorousElk on

r/europe constantly: Everyone hates working with Germany on defence projects, no one wants to work with Germany!

Meanwhile Germany happily developing missiles with Norway, Sweden, the UK …
