The mainland of….?
Why not for EU? Has it been filled with highly carcinogenic additives that are banned in most of the world since 1970 but UK has decided to resurrect since the big Brex?
That shop has bought batches of condensed milk of somewhere in the north that were originally from GB it seems. The labels in the shops up here say that if it’s a product from GB.
It basically makes shipping goods to NI from GB is easier as there isn’t a further requirement to prove its EU quality, as it’s not meant to be sold in the EU lol. But realistically all the products still are EU quality
It’s an issue in that companies that rely on scale and don’t sell enough volume on their own to get competitive costs so they bundle their volumes with their UK parent.
M&S has been challenged with this a lot. I think Tesco seem to be big enough to avoid this.
I was in Belfast & Banbridge a few weeks ago and it’s funny seeing the obligatory “not for EU” signs in supermarkets that absolutely nobody pays attention to. It’s clear much of it does actually end up in the EU.
