What retaliation? Hasn’t Russia done everything it can?

The real retaliation will be when Belgium has to send troops to defend Lithuania and Poland. How much of a dingbat do you have to be to not understand this? Showing weakness to bullies invites attack.

    2. Reading the letter itself I have a feeling that it suggests to form a committee to build a plan to create a roadmap to have each EU citizen, on average, pay 80 euros a year to cover Ukraine’s fiscal hole. There are a few options considered: just take money directly from governments, create a conditional loan with condition more or less unachievable, create a contract with Euroclear that would be based on loan with unachievable condition or a combination of some of this fuckery. I may be be wrong, but it sounds as nothingburger as many other strongly-worded letters.

80% of the frozen assets are government bonds of various EU countries (France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and the Netherlands afair) owned by the Russian Central Bank. It would be straight up geopolitical/economic suicide to seize these assets completely. NO ONE other than other EU countries will ever invest in these assets in the future if they are illegally seized.
