      I don’t think that pile is actually 10 tons.

      Rope fiber weighs about the same as water – many ropes float, whilst some sink.

      However, about 30% of the rope by volume is air, and the packing density of rope can’t be more than perhaps 30% – so the density of a pile of rope would be 210 kg per cubic meter. To get 10 tons of rope, assuming an angle of repose of 45 deg, the height of the pile would be 3.5 meters high.

      Whereas the actual pile appears to be closer to 2 meters high – which would only be 1.7 tons.

      Must be great to be an artist, do one really good piece that makes your name. After that do the first thing that pops into your head, no work necessary just give a rough idea to your assistants and they do the rest.

      Easy money and status.
