“The building contained five million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which Mr Johnson believed were rightfully British because they were developed in the UK.

But he was told the plan was unlikely to succeed and was forced to admit that the idea of effectively invading a Nato ally was “nuts”.

Jesus Boris. That’s just stupid not nuts.

Everyone in here taking this a serious comment when it was likely a joke made in a meeting. Have people forgotten how sarcastic Britain is? I am so tired of comments of jokes being taken out of context and poses a serious comment.

I seriously doubt they were considering sending special forces down the canals in a secret mission to liberate the vaccines which is what the comment literally talks about. That sounds like a sarcastic joke to me.

There’s no way he actually thought and conceptualised this. He is a fool, but I want to believe that there’s a limit to his stupidity. _Please_ someone tell me this was ill-thought satire on his part

I wonder why they considered using boats. Apparently they were planning to cross the North Sea with RIBs, and then sail up the canals. Why would that be easier than just driving up with a truck?

Do there even exists boats that are both seaworthy and fit in the narrow and shallow Leiden canals?

This is ridiculous. In what reality would this be a feasible plan?. It sounds like a Donald trump plan.
