why are Italy and France so low on the Opinion of Ukraine list?
TungstenPaladin on
The Ukraine question seems kinda silly. Ukraine is physically located in Europe so of course it’s a part of Europe. The question should be more of “Do you think that Ukraine belongs in the EU?”

the last constant in the world. the slight, sometimes stronger, antipathy of the Germans towards the Americans.

Okay, the answers to the last question confused the hell out of me: how can Ukraine be considered not part of Europe lol? 1/5 of Poles are saying that? I don’t think they mean that Ukraine is in Africa…, but if those idiots mean that Ukraine culturally belongs to Asia, then well, this would actually make us Eastern Europe xD
But to be serious, well, Ukrainian people suffered a lot in 2014, when they fought to be closer to Europe despite their traitorous president back then. I mean, even in 2004 already Poland was one of the main supporters of the Orange Revolution, when they tried to align their country with more European values. Those are well-known things here…

Quite a large amount of people that don’t see Ukraine as part of Europe. Explains why they do nothing and rely on America to solve their problems.

Personally, I think China is a Rival a 100%. Obviously they aren’t militarily as hungry as Russia. But the giant panda is waking up and is getting hungry for some bamboo. They are in direct conflict with our democratic values that we must protect, having them gain too much power, effectively becoming the police of the world like the US does/did would, to me, have horrible consequences

Bulgaria on the second screen in relation to russia was definitely surprising. Hungary was expected, but Bulgaria… I don’t even know what to say.

Well, purely geographically, the center of Europe is in Ukraine, so I don’t even know what the question is about. And I’m more surprised that no other country, except Ukraine, has at least 80% thinking this way. Even a small part of russia is in Europe, so when it comes to Ukraine…

The question about Ukraine and Europe can be confusing as misunderstanding EU versus Europe as a continent. Why not using the same grading as for the previews pages?

Before Trump took office I’d view the US as an ally, now I’d say a necesarry strategic partner but probably not one we can rely on. Trump probably has a more favourable view of Putin and Russia than he does of any other European country.
