The wealth, people, and industry to become a world power. Time to use it

    2. Glittering-Gene7215 on

China, USA, and russia are three separate countries, each under a single leadership.

The EU is a union of many different countries, each with its own government. Any government can say its “No,” and even a single “No” can prevent all the other countries from moving forward.

How do you plan to solve this problem?

    3. misanthropemalist on

The resilience of Europe and its resistance against neo-feudalism that took over US is rooted in our diversity.

Much more difficult to take over a government by tech bros and other Corpo cunts, when you have no centralized structures.

Of course, we still can unite for common goals or like now, against common foes.

But we don’t need no single point of failure for that (see Trump and Republicunts).

The US’s GDP is $29tn, not 20.  If the EU were a country it would still have a GDP only slightly more than two thirds that of the US.

    5. Adventurous_Tale6577 on

For that to happen, larger countries need to show interest in smaller countries. Otherwise, it’s impossible. There would have to be a will to finance and help smaller countries. When in reality Olaf Scholz didn’t visit Croatia once, and Macron was the first French president to visit Croatia, and he wouldn’t even visit if we weren’t buying planes.

It’s a bit optimistic to say the most powerful nation, but to at least not be threatened.

There’s an enormous gap between “trading bloc” and “State.” Will Europe be willing to abolish its existing national governments to create a real federal system? Especially one that can compel action from other members?

That’s never voluntarily happened. Recall that the US, Russia, and China each consolidated national governance after revolution, imperial expansion, and devastating civil wars, in which there were clear losers. Change had to be imposed. In Russia and China, that was even easier because of a dominant nationality, but it was still incredibly bloody.

Could you imagine Belgian and Irish Europhiles going to war to humble Hungary?

I don’t care about being “the most powerful”.

      I want Europe to be:

      * powerful enough to deter the others from threatening us
      * mostly independent from others in critical resources and energy, and if dependent, only from friendly and trustworthy countries
      * defensive
      * in traditional warfare
      * in cyber warfare: less vulnerability to foreign manipulation on social media, bot farms, Big Tech intransparent algorithms, misinformation campaigns, but also less vulnerability to hacking and cyber attacks in digital infrastructure used by both the private sector and the authorities
      * the defender of liberal democracy, together with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan – which means we also have to be a good role model and practice what we preach and aim to improve our own problems with democracy. We are not without flaws.
      * unified with a common goal, good cooperation, internal standardization and a shared identity.

As long as we are all of that, as far as I am concerned, someone else can be “the most powerful”.

These numbers are wrong. Germany has 4.526T GDP.

      Japan is at 4.2T GDP.

USA people for become an unified country they have different civil war against each other and they are under a sim, ilar flag but each state is an indipendent country thats why is called United STATES of america…We just did a poll for an unification and that was a tricky way , Europe was just an economical unification changed into a unified country with same money. They build yes a country without build before the mind of european people

The EU is pretty much the Federation from Star Trek at this stage. Chill, advanced and besieged by warmongers, cyborgs and authoritarian lunatics.

Not at the expense of national sovereignty.

And these numbers are way outdated.

    13. domespider on

So, pie charts are out because they sound American? You came up with a soccer-ball chart, instead.

I don’t know how strongly you want to stick to the term nation but rushing the “European nation” would be a terrible idea. Sorry, but uniting nations that have many hundreds of years of conflicts between each other in a couple of years is impossible. The earlier date is in the XXII century.

    15. gazzettinoeconomico on

      Yeah, let’s unite.
We should start from changing plastic bottle caps. That’s where the revolution begins.

Wow, now we Turks have become Europeans. My European brothers, be aware that 95% of Türkiye is in Asia.

Germany loses two world wars and still has the biggest economy… Other europeans are lazy AF.

Those are pre-trump numbers for the US. he’ll bankrupts us soon just like he did with his other companies.

    19. See that little pink trianglish-shape to Europe’s left? It’s with you guys. Not the big fat to it’s top

No thanks, I have no interest is losing our nation’s independence, just to hope Brussels doesn’t cock it up; because they will.

    21. King_Chad_The_69th on

This chart is pretty majorly outdated. I know for a fact that the UK now has around a trillion more.

    22. Sadly, when it’s all over we are still going to have housing issues, wealth inequalities and will likely get worse as we turn out focus on military.

Please take Canada and Japan also. They dont deserve the bullying they get from the provocateur in chief.

    24. This data is 7 years old. At year end 2024 USA gdp is $30T and European Union 20T.

    25. DiscountMiserable665 on

Nation? Slow down buddy. It’s a union, I’m willing to concede beyond commerce and human rights union to be a militaristic union but we will maintain sovereignty for all nations. My country fought hard for their constitution.

    26. International-Log904 on

      A. No you wouldn’t, Europe’s been declining economically for decades as a share of global GDP and is estimated to total 10% by 2050% (that will be a tiny green area). B. Europes inability to unite inside a country let alone across is impossible

    27. Negative_Composer733 on

I’m sure Canada wants to join. We lot so many minerals and oil. Tons of opportunities and incredible trained. Canada is looking for better trading partners.
