I don’t have an e-bike, why would I need to get insurance?

Surely you’d need a license too, when you’re at the stage of insurance/road tax ?

That’s wrong – L1e-A class are defined as MPVs but don’t require insurance and can be up to 1000W.

AFAIK they’re mechanically propelled vehicles and not e-bikes anymore. You’re also unlikely to find any of these that actually comply with the requirements for frame numbers, so you probably won’t be getting insurance for them.
