In Ireland you need to be a qualified farmer to inherit the land with the 90% discount and farm it for x number of years. We actually have a fairly clever rules. It can still be a tax dodge to some extend but it requires little timmy to get qualified and actually invest in farming to make it happen, so its less appealing.

It’s sad to me that the people with the most security are most hell bent on ruining everything for everyone.
They don’t need to. But they’re going to wreck farming for a tax break so wee Pisslington never has to actually work, just harass tenants for the rest of his absolutely parasitic existence.

The return of the tenant farmer and the absentee landlord. History moves in cycles.
