I don’t have the full article as it is under paywall but still most of the main informations are there.
This also show what was expected, Rafale is not a bad aircraft in anyway and there are plenty of data showing that.
>Indonesia is no longer seeking a dozen Rafales, but rather 24 fighter jets manufactured by Dassault Aviation, according to concordant sources. The contract could be signed during the visit to Paris of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, France’s guest of honor for the 14th of July celebrations. A very Francophile, the Indonesian head of state will arrive with approximately 450 soldiers, who will parade down Paris’s famous Champs-Élysées avenue. Following Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Indonesia in May, this will be a new opportunity for Jakarta and Paris to strengthen the already very close bilateral relations between the two countries.
>Other contracts could be signed on July 14th, or even come into force, such as the one for Naval Group’s two Scorpène submarines. KNDS France could also finalize a new sale of Caesar self-propelled guns (up to 36 additional systems), while Naval Group could sign an order for frigates. For now, it seems that nothing has been definitively finalized, as is often the case just days before the Indonesian president’s arrival in Paris………

Isnt this very old [news](https://www.airdatanews.com/indonesia-gives-approval-for-third-batch-of-dassault-rafale-fighter-jets/)? Werent they going to buy 42 jets?
Why does Indonesia need so many jets?
Don’t they have better things to do with the money?
Sure lol. Indonesia is currently planning on buying 2 of everything, from everyone. A lot of these ideas will get scrapped with fiscal reality hits.
That’s 66 Rafales bought by Indonesia in total 👏
Indonesia also bought some frigates from [Fincantieri](https://www.asianmilitaryreview.com/2025/07/indonesian-navy-cranks-up-its-frigate-inventory-foc/). Indonesia seems to be beefing up its navy and air force.
Mantap!
E. Trappier did mention potential additional orders from existing clients. This one is half of a surprise.
Better ramp up the production output and GTFO of Eurofighter 2.0.
